HEY THERE, HOWDY, EVERYBODY!

A New Funny Show for Grades 3-K through 4th Grade

America’s beloved children’s theater company, THE PAPER BAG PLAYERS, has been creating imaginative worlds from paper and cardboard since 1958. Our 67th season introduces a joyful new show, HEY THERE, HOWDY, EVERYBODY! The show bursts with zany stories, audience participation, sing- along songs, foot-stomping dances, and larger-than-life characters. It’s a funny, friendly, and thrilling hour of theater – perfect for children ages 3 through 9, fun for everyone!

The show gets off to a galloping start with the actors on horseback in “Howdy,” a rollicking song and dance that the audience joins. The Western theme continues with “The Cactus and Balloon,” a tale about an unlikely friendship. In the classic number, “Tree Angel,” trees discover how to outsmart a woodchopper with a little help from the audience and their very own angel. “Lost and Found” imagines the world of a lost glove, while “Boxes” makes a hilarious dance out of missed connections. The hour is rounded out with a deliriously silly tug-of-war game, a dancing chicken who steals a lunchbox, a trio of cake-eating sleepwalkers, a giant parade of cats, and much more! It’s all wrapped up in our signature paper and cardboard costumes, sets and props, inspiring children to create on their own and taking them on an adventure in art and theater they will never forget!
