The Paper Bag Players is dedicated to creating original, interactive theater that engages and enriches young children, fostering a lifelong love of the arts. Our shows combine music, dance, poetry, and visual arts, using simple materials like paper and cardboard to reflect children’s everyday lives and imaginations. We believe that early exposure to the arts is crucial for a child’s development and are committed to making our performances accessible to all, regardless of economic background. Our work resonates across cultures and abilities, using universal languages of movement, music, and art to connect with all children. Through our theater and educational programs, we aim to inspire creativity, curiosity, and joy in every young child we reach.

Theater For All

Since its inception, The Paper Bag Players have been committed to ensuring that children from all backgrounds have access to theater. Through our “Theater For All” program, we provide free and reduced-price tickets to underserved schools across New York City and the Northeast, along with workshops that inspire creativity in young audiences. This vital program is made possible through support from government funding, foundations, and individual donors.
